About Me
This is my 7th year teaching at Corona Creek School and my 14th year teaching in public schools. I am really excited about teaching a 4th/5th combination class this year. I have taught many combination classes and feel that the multi-age experience allows students to become more aware of the greater school community. The students are at a magical age when they really begin to develop their own personalities. I enjoy tapping into that energy and encouraging students to be curious about the world around them.
I grew up in Mill Valley and have lived for the past 13 years in Sebastopol with my husband, Dan, and our two children, Patrick and Katy. Katy attends Analy High School, and enjoys playing basketball for the Lady Tigers. My son graduated from Analy last year and will be heading to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in September. He was in Kindergarten when I first started teaching, and it will be both exciting and sad to see him leave for college.
My kids have both been very involved in sports, so I began playing soccer myself about 5 years ago. I have enjoyed the exercise and friendships that I have developed along the way. Two summers ago I attended a School Garden Training Program at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center. I have been working with a couple of teachers to get a school garden going at Corona Creek. My class last year got to help put the garden in, and I look forward to using the garden as a teaching tool this year.
